Unveiling the Unique Interactive Experience of TI9!
The annual DOTA 2 International will soon begin. This year’s International will feature two intense and exciting matches!
First battle: The summit clash of the host – “Runner-up” duel
As one of the most exciting events of the year, the battle for the runner-up and third place is the most frequent match. In this grand event, players will face a team composed of numerous teams, each with their own characteristics. Before each match, they will challenge each other. From this set of strengths, we can see the powerfulness of the participating teams.
Second battle: The strongest champions from major regions around the world – “Top 8” vs. Champion
This is a match filled with passion, excitement, and a sense of honor. In addition to the regular season, this competition also introduces a new points reward mechanism – Top 8. The Top 8 mechanism divides the eight players into four groups, and there will be two team matches. In the final match, the champion team will receive 8 cities (including the Chinese region), while the runner-up team will receive 4 cities (including the Korean region). The four teams that enter the final match will receive all 4 city trophies, totaling 9 cities. The other eight participating teams will receive 5 cities (including the European region) and 3 cities. The remaining two teams will be divided into two groups, one group in Group A and the other in Group B.
These two teams will compete in a best of three, two wins system, with each team having two rounds. The team with two consecutive losses will directly receive two wins. The other team will continue to fight in a losing manner until the team that wins the championship is determined. If players want to win the game, they need to gain an advantage through “Solo Match Mode”, “Duo Match Mode”, or solo ranked matches. In this fair competitive environment, it depends on who can win more trophies.
